Barbara Fishman is an artist who wants people to connect with and be stimulated by the content of her work through their feelings and
emotions. She continuously challenges herself to find new and different ways in which to express her reactions to the world around her. As a
response to this, she constantly presents her work in unique and surprising ways. Barbara uses a variety of medium and techniques to
showcase her paintings through abstracts and impressionism.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia where I began pursuing my interest in art at Temple's Tyler School of Art. After moving to Central Pennsylvania in 1968 , I studied with several prominent area artists including Bruce Johnson, Nick Ruggieri, and Charles (Li) Hidley. I am a graduate of the Pennsylvania School of Art and design with a degree in Fine Art.
I have exhibited at the William Ris Gallery of Camp Hill (now Arts at 510 in Harrisburg), Whitaker Center For the Arts, and have won both first place and Best of Show awards at the Art Association of Harrisburg and Reservoir Park Mansion. Some of my work has been selected for the permanent collection at Elizabethtown College, and Temple University in Harrisburg.
My paintings are also on exhibit year-round at The Porch and Pantry Restaurant in Mt. Gretna (formerly known as Le Sorelle).
To see more of my work, please call for an appointment. I would be delighted to meet you!
