Music on the porch with Loren Peck.
Barbara James is a local artist from Hershey, PA but is originally from Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. She has a degree in fine art from Glassboro State College, NJ.
She has made a significant shift from painting realistically to developing a new medium she calls, Abstract Sculptural Mixed Media. A combination of different materials are used to execute each piece. She uses her hands as a tool for forming the sculptural elements and her skills as a painter to bring the work to life.
Angela Shope combines her love of painting with porcelain ceramics. She is a utilitarian ceramic artist and fine artist exhibiting paintings and ceramics both locally and nationally. It was her delight to be recognized as a favorite emerging artist in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she was born and raised. Angela received her BA in Fine Art from Millersville University, Millersville PA and attended Chatauqua Institution of Art in Chatauqua, NY. Angela has been an Artist in Residence for painting and also for ceramics at Millersville University. Currently, she is a self employed artist and resides in Lancaster, PA.
"The making of my pinch pots is therapeutic for me. When I am crafting in the moment I am sidestepping the torrent of today’s chaos and forging a kinship with what’s ancient. Thru my pottery I am evoking something timeless. Using natural found clays, elemental hand-building technique from beyond written history and primitive firings I create pots that can appear to be natural objects yet bear the marks of being handmade."
Ryan studied Art at Kutztown University.
